Mastering Digital Competencies for Educators
This advanced training course is tailored for experienced educators aiming to deepen their digital competencies in accordance with the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu). Participants will explore innovative strategies and advanced digital tools that enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. The course focuses on six key areas: professional engagement, digital resources, teaching and learning, assessment, empowering learners, and facilitating the digital environment, with a strong emphasis on practical application and leadership in digital education.
By the end of the course, participants will possess a robust skill set to lead digital transformation in their educational settings. They will learn to critically evaluate digital tools, design comprehensive digital curricula, and implement advanced assessment strategies. This course aims to cultivate digital leaders who can inspire their peers and enhance the overall digital competence within their institutions.

Participants should bring a mobile device to test online applications and platforms during the course sessions. Internet access, video projection and other necessary resources are provided by ACJ.
Day 1: Advanced Digital Competence Framework

Day 2: Designing Digital Learning Experiences

- Peer collaboration on refining digital curricula
Day 3: Advanced Assessment Strategies
- Exploring advanced digital assessment tools and their applications

- Strategies for providing meaningful feedback in digital environments
- Group activity: Developing a comprehensive assessment plan for a digital course
Day 4: Creating digital resources for outdoor activities and Cultural Visit
- Creating and configuring GPS guiding apps and AI to explore subject related local heritage and interest points with students.

Day 5: Leading Digital Transformation
- Best practices for facilitating a collaborative digital learning environment
- Workshop on change management and leadership in digital education
- Final project presentations: Leading a digital initiative in education
- Course evaluation and strategies for ongoing professional development
This advanced course empowers educators to take a leadership role in digital education, equipping them with the skills necessary to inspire and guide their colleagues.

Primary school teachers, secondary school teachers and school managers.
The course employs an experiential learning approach, combining advanced theoretical insights with hands-on practice. Participants will engage in case studies, collaborative problem-solving activities, and leadership discussions to facilitate peer learning. Emphasis will be placed on real-world applications and the sharing of innovative practices.
The course will include hands-on sessions where participants actively engage with digital and artificial intelligence tools and resources, collaborative activities that allow educators to practice skills in real-time, peer and project-based learning, group discussions and reflections and expert facilitation.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation and a Declaration of Obtained Competencies, officially recognizing the skills gained during the course.
The acquired competences will also be validated within the Europass Mobility framework — participants should request that their National Agency issue the Europass.
Our courses are aligned with the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu), and the provided documentation that can support the recognition.
Participants are responsible for booking their own accommodation. ACJ will guide recommended hotels across different price ranges, but participants are free to choose hotels and restaurants according to their preference. Our staff enjoy lunch daily at a nearby restaurant offering good quality at affordable prices - you are welcome to join them!
All accommodation and meals are paid directly by participants to the hotels and restaurants.
During the course, lunches and coffee will also be available on or near the University of Algarve campus, where the training takes place.
