Experience the future of teaching and learning by making a selective adoption of ICT tools, devices and apps. Understand IT educational use, integration and continuous innovation. Learn how to select the best options for your class, for your student's levels and subjects. Experience the use of the newest apps to optimize teaching tasks and to work collaboratively. Learn how to select and use apps to plan and prepare lessons, explore contents, monitor your student's perception and assess student performance.

* The course is held in the English language. English A2 (CEFR) level is recommended, but trainers are experienced in helping students with English language difficulties.

Day 1
  • Course and participant presentation;
  • Coffee break;
  • Understanding Mobile devices hardware and Operating Systems;
  • Using and managing mobile devices;
  • Lunch;
  • Using GPS guiding apps to explore educational pathways: exploring Faro City.
 
Day 2
  • Integrating ICT and mobile devices in the classroom;
  • Selecting devices and applications;
  • Coffee break;
  • Selecting and assessing device usage and application results;
  • Maximizing the use and the benefits of ICT in education towards continuous innovation;
  • Lunch;
  • ICT tools and apps for planning and preparing lessons and educational tasks;
  • Coffee break;
  • Application group task.
 
Day 3
  • Tools and apps to explore contents, monitor and assess student performance;
  • Coffee break;
  • Group task: complete lesson preparation and implementation using ICT tools;
  • Lunch;
  • ICT Tools and apps to work collaboratively;
  • Coffee break;
  • ICT Tools and apps to collect data and generating reports.
 
Day 4
  • Visit local upper secondary school: observing infrastructures, resources and attending lessons;
  • Lunch
  • Using apps to ease all steps of the teaching and learning process.
 
Day 5
  • Selecting apps for specific student groups, subjects, contents and procedures;
  • Coffee break;
  • Course evaluation;
  • Certification;
  • Lunch;
  • Cultural program.

 

Note: The course program can be changed according to participant's profile, local holidays or on the availability of schools to visit.

 

Target group

Primary school teachers, Secondary school teachers, School staff and School managers.

 

Course methodology
  • Brief introduction to each of the topics;
  • Participants share experiences and best practices on each topic in group and plenary sessions;
  • Participants experiment the use of ICT tools, install, configure and explore tools and apps;
  • Participants visit public and private schools, from different levels and observe infrastructures and resources and its usage;
  • Participants observe lessons: teaching, studying and learning processes in classrooms in small groups or individually.
  • Individually or in groups, participants prepare lessons, using ICT tools and apps.

Certification

Course participants will get a Certificate of participation and a Declaration of Obtained Competencies.

Competences acquired will be validated by the course organizers on the Europass mobility. Participants must ask their national agency to issue the Europass (Visit our website Documents > Europass mobility).

 

Accommodation and Meals

Participants book their accommodation. ACJ will advise participants for hotel choice in different price categories. Participants are free to choose hotels and restaurants. Accommodation is paid directly by participants to hotels and restaurants.

Lunches and coffee are available in or around the University of Algarve, where the course will take place.
